Doug Diers, the owner and operator of Shoot-It Basketball Academy not only helps them with basketball, but has an emotional connection with kids. He genuinely wants to see them succeed in sports and life. He coaches, referees, gives motivational talks, and raises 8 children with his wife Jen.
Doug credits his faith in Jesus Christ for his success.
Doug pursued his college career at Iowa Lakes Community College where he led the Iowa-NJCCA in scoring with over 24 points a game and was first team All-Region. He then went on to receive a full ride basketball scholarship to Division II Morningside College in Sioux City. Doug now enjoys living in Pella with his wife Jen and eight kids: Kobe, Luke, Faith, Esther, Emmanuel, Sarah, Lucy and Grace.
March of 2004, he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. Doug says God has challenged him and led him to pursue the sport that has been so good me. Doug credits his Lord Jesus Christ for all his talent. Ephesians 2:8-9
